Life in Orient

Orient is the North Fork’s final stretch — a quiet, rural hamlet at the very tip of Long Island’s north shore, where farmland runs right up to the water on both sides. Orient Beach State Park anchors the hamlet with a long sand spit and open bay views, and the historic district around Village Lane is genuinely unspoiled: fewer visitors, fewer businesses, and some of the North Fork’s most protected, least-developed land. It’s the most remote and arguably most exclusive of the North Fork hamlets.
