How High-End Hamptons Rentals Work
At this level the market runs on its own calendar. Serious searching for the following summer starts in winter, and the best houses are frequently committed before spring. If you are looking for a specific stretch of beach or a particular number of bedrooms, earlier is genuinely better.
- Terms are not standard. Memorial Day to Labor Day, July only, August through Labor Day, and short-term stays all trade side by side, so compare the period as carefully as the price.
- Expect a substantial security deposit and a formal lease covering occupancy, parking, pool and staff arrangements.
- Rental registration is required in Southampton Town and several villages. Ask for the permit number.
